It was end of summer 2009 and the three of us were crossing the mountains to get to Budva. The aim was clear - get to "Casper" in good spirits and transfer them to the dancefloor, if there will be one on the last Friday in August. I brought a lot of sexy stuff with me, tuning it with still hot air; records not so new, but I didn`t mind, as together they formed a pretty good story. Or three.
The first one is LONG HOT SEXY NIGHTS.
Starting a set with this song is setting tone for at least the next hour. So I decided it will be long, hot and sexy introduction. Three Russian women in front of DJ booth did not appear to be moved in the begginning. Funny, because it is basically music for women. But my friends, all of them quite emotional, enjoyed it, as it is also music for men that profoundly love women. Me too.
The second story is RIDIN`.
You know how the story goes when you play out as a DJ - somebody should dance too. So the second part was quite funky. Jumping from theme to theme, to keep things interesting. From Herbert to Manila, from Candela to Valerian. And Russians were dancing too.
You can call the third part SMOOTH OPERATOR.
Apart from keeping the title connected to the first song, which I already did in the first two, the reason for calling it that is obvious. Yes, we are still dancing to some unbelievably beautiful drum & bass in the first fifteen minutes, but now, after more then two hours, it is time to relax again, with disco and soulful tunes to soothe our souls. Metro Area plays a significant role, like in the first part, but the real winner is Idris Muhammad. "I feel muusic iiiiin your eeeeeyes..."
